Ranch Retreat from our calendar dates.
J-K Weekender:
Friday through Sunday.
Arrive Friday afternoon or evening, to get you and your horse settled in
for your stay. We'll have a light introductory session and brief
evaluation of your goals, questions and equipment, to get those things
out of the way so we are ready to go on Saturday morning.
J-K 5 Day:
For the 5 Day Retreat, add on 3 more days. More time to
move closer to your goals and develop a stronger relationship with your
horse.
When you come to the J-K,
you get Value for your time and money!
What to expect:
There are no set expectations or judgments from us on what you should
know when you come to the J-K.
We'll start working from where you are 'at' with your horses.
Don't worry about what you need to work on with your horse before you
come for your J-K Equestrian Ranch Retreat.
If you have things you are working on, or would like to work on, or
towards, feel free to let us know ahead of time or when you arrive and
get settled in.
Our 'method' is to work from
the horse's agenda, meaning that the horse will let us know where the
glitches are in your line of communication, and with your riding skills.
We concentrate on horsemanship and horse handling to help
you define your horsemanship, versus teaching riders and
horses through typical 'horse training' methods. Our job is to
coach you in a 'here and now approach'. What we do in our coaching
programs or coaching clinics is not like the typical clinic situation.
We will be coming up with some creative ideas for you to try as we go
and as we see opportunities, in the moment, as they arise...naturally.
J-K Ranch Equestrian Retreats
are designed to be relaxed and enjoyable, with no pressure. Bring
all the things you work with, tools, equipment, etc., and any
extra-special foods or supplements you horse requires.

Coaching, Horse Board and
your stay at the ranch...
All inclusive
Lodging
Your ranch stay fees include lodging. There are 4 double occupancy
rooms in the ranch house, and 2 full, shared bathrooms.
Meals
Breakfast and lunches are good and healthy. At dinner time we
all sit down and enjoy dinner together. The ranch features natural
ranch raised beef and lamb along with vegies in season from the ranch
garden.
Calaveras Beef and Lamb.
Board
Board for one horse is included. Each horse will have its own
pen or stall, cleaned 2 times per day, with our feed. We feed Elk
Grove Stable Mix pelleted feed and grass or forage mix hay.
Extra horses are an additional $25 per day. Guests are welcome to
come out early in the morning and help with feeding and cleaning.
