Trail Training and Obstacle Riding
Clinic
This clinic is geared toward
Building a team between you, your horse and friends you ride
with!
Developing your horse for safe, pleasurable, enjoyable rides
outside the arena on the trail and in open spaces
●Team building exercises will be
interjected from time to time for fun and to evoke thought and build awareness
for how horses think and act towards humans.
●Working on the ground, getting to know how to place your horse's feet where
they should be and where you want them to be rather than your horse taking over.
Develop good ground manners.
●Getting a better 'feel' of how you can influence your horses to become more
'sure footed' on the trail through better rein control.
●Learn how to help your friends with their horses, help them with problems such
as jigging, kicking, pushing up on other horses while on narrow trails or in the
arena.
●Ride with greater purpose so you are the one in charge rather than your horse.
●Gain confidence while learning how to do more difficult tasks such as opening
and closing gates horseback, dragging objects or fence posts from horseback,
using obstacles and natural terrain to improve your seat and refine riding
skills.
●Agility exercises with our horses to help riders become more able to perform
tasks such as mounting and dismounting quickly and safely in potential hazardous
situations, learning how to lead and direct two horses together.
